Fleeced Earflap Hat designed by Julie Weisenberger
The Earflap hat is super soft and super warm thanks to the merino fleece worked in as you knit. It’s my own version of thrumming… “extreme thrumming” which is invisible on the outside but thick and warm as lamb’s wool on the inside.

Yarn Options
- 1 (1, 2) skeins Brown Sheep Lamb’s Pride Bulky
(85% Wool, 15% Mohair, 125 yards) - 1 (1, 2) skeins Plymouth Yarn Baby Alpaca Grande
(100% alpaca, 110 yards) - Substitute any Bulky yarn which calls for 3 sts/1".
Needles
#10 needles or size needed to obtain gauge.
Fleece
1 oz of merino top
Natural undyed top can be purchased from Marvelous Merino’s Etsy shop.
Gauge
11 sts in 4" over garter st while fleecing and 13 sts in 4" when not fleecing
